All Students are involved

Any Student from any background is welcome to join and learn how to work on and race cars

Our Driver Team

Every semester, we select a group of drivers to compete in a variety of racing events. With two or more races each semester, many students have the chance to get behind the wheel and gain real track experience. While prior performance driving experience is strongly encouraged, all drivers must be proficient with a manual transmission. Events we participate in include the 24 Hours of Lemons, ChampCar Endurance Series, Autocross, Speedsportz track days, and more.

Our Pit-Crew Team

Every semester, we select a pit crew for our races. The pit crew is made up of knowledgeable students who keep our cars running at the track—handling repairs, maintenance, and anything else that might come up. They also suit up to assist with driver changes and refueling during endurance races. Pit crew members are essential during our major events, including the 24 Hours of Lemons and ChampCar Endurance Series.

Work on the Cars

All students, regardless of experience level, are encouraged to work on our race cars. Our more experienced members mentor and guide those who are new to automotive work, creating a collaborative and educational environment for everyone involved.

To stay organized and ensure each part of the car gets the attention it needs, our team is divided into six specialized sub-teams:

  • Aerodynamics
Focuses on the aerodynamic components of our cars, including wings, driver cooling systems, and fiberglass work.

  • Design
Handles the artistic side of the team—car liveries, merchandise, promotional materials, and branding.

  • Electrical
Works on the car’s electrical systems, including the ECU, wiring, shift lights, and other electronics.

  • Fabrication
Specializes in welding, grinding, and fabricating components such as roll cages, exhaust systems, and chassis repairs.

  • Powertrain
Covers anything related to the engine, transmission, and fuel systems.

  • Suspension
Focuses on suspension components, tire setups, and vehicle alignment.

Student Formal

Our annual formal for members is a place to highlight, laughs, and cherish memories and friendships that were made over the past year.
